Day 1: Arrival in Bamako
Your exciting journey begins with a flight to Bamako.
During the flight you can relax and anticipate the adventures that await you in Mali. Upon landing at Senou International Airport, you will be greeted by your local contact, KASSOGUE DJIBRIL. He is available via WhatsApp, making communication seamless and straightforward.
The next stop is your hotel, The Sleeping Camel, situated in Badalabougou at the corner of Rue 25 and Rue 18. Once settled, if energy levels permit, embark on an exploratory journey of the city. Exchange your money, get acquainted with the local lifestyle, and let Bamako's rhythm captivate you as traditional music fills the air in the evening.
Day 2: Journey to San via Segou
Your second day begins with an exhilarating journey towards San, spanning 470 kilometers. The highlight of the journey is a stop at SegouKoro, the historic capital of the Bambara Kingdom. You will have the opportunity to meet the village chief, a descendant of the Bambara kings, and explore the village, which still showcases traces of its regal past.
To make your journey more enjoyable, you will take a pinace ride on the Niger river, during which your lunch will be served. Once in Segou, visit the local bogolans and indigo manufacturing workshop before continuing your journey to San. The day concludes with an overnight stay at San Teriya hotel where you can experience the traditional dances of the Bobo ethnic groups.
Day 3: Exploration of Djenne and Return to Segou
Day three starts with a drive to Djenne. Once there, take your time to stroll through the old town, exploring the architectural gems and historic Koranic schools. Treat your taste buds to a local dish, Tion Tion, before visiting the sacred well, Tapama's tomb, a manuscript library, and finally climbing a rooftop for a splendid view of the mosque and the market.
In the afternoon, embark on the return journey to Segou. After an approximated 490 kilometers drive, spend the night at the Segou Hostel Djiguibombo, reflecting on the day's adventures and preparing for the next day.
Day 4: Discovery of Segou and Return to Bamako
Day four starts with an on-foot exploration of Segou, allowing you to experience the city's essence intimately. Visit Somono neighborhoods and colonial mission catholic houses to gain insights into local life and traditions.
In the afternoon, head back to Bamako. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of the big market and the fetish market, and take in the richness of the local culture at the National Museums and the Independent Monument. Complete your day with a walk on the Niger River and settle down for the night on a small island near Bamako (exact hotel details are yet to be confirmed).
Day 5: Cultural Exposure and Departure
On the last day of your journey, visit an interesting puppet center in Bamako. Experience a traditional puppet dance performance, providing a unique cultural experience.
After saying goodbye to the puppet dancers, prepare for the journey back to Senou International Airport. Board your flight to Ouagadougou, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences and adventures that Mali offered you. Departure is scheduled for the evening, marking the end of your exciting journey.

Jour 2 : Voyage à San via Segou
Votre deuxième journée commence par un voyage exaltant vers San, s'étendant sur 470 kilomètres. Le point culminant du voyage est un arrêt à SegouKoro, l'ancienne capitale du Royaume Bambara. Vous aurez l'occasion de rencontrer le chef du village, un descendant des rois bambara, et d'explorer le village, qui montre encore des traces de son passé royal.
Pour rendre votre voyage plus agréable, vous ferez une balade en pinasse sur le fleuve Niger, pendant laquelle votre déjeuner vous sera servi. Une fois à Segou, visitez l'atelier local de fabrication de bogolans et d'indigo avant de continuer votre voyage vers San. La journée se termine par une nuit à l'hôtel San Teriya où vous pourrez découvrir les danses traditionnelles des groupes ethniques Bobo.
Jour 3 : Exploration de Djenne et retour à Segou
Le troisième jour commence par un trajet jusqu'à Djenne. Une fois sur place, prenez votre temps pour flâner dans la vieille ville, en explorant les joyaux architecturaux et les écoles coraniques historiques. Régalez vos papilles avec un plat local, le Tion Tion, avant de visiter le puits sacré, la tombe de Tapama, une bibliothèque de manuscrits, et enfin de grimper sur un toit pour une vue splendide sur la mosquée et le marché.
Dans l'après-midi, embarquez pour le voyage de retour à Segou. Après environ 490 kilomètres de route, passez la nuit à l'auberge Segou Djiguibombo, en réfléchissant aux aventures de la journée et en vous préparant pour le lendemain.
Jour 4 : Découverte de Segou et retour à Bamako
Le quatrième jour commence par une exploration à pied de Segou, vous permettant de vivre intimement l'essence de la ville. Visitez les quartiers Somono et les maisons de mission catholique coloniale pour avoir un aperçu de la vie locale et des traditions.
Dans l'après-midi, retournez à Bamako. À votre arrivée, plongez-vous dans l'énergie vibrante du grand marché et du marché fétiche, et découvrez la richesse de la culture locale au Musée National et au Monument Indépendant. Terminez votre journée par une promenade sur le fleuve Niger et installez-vous pour la nuit sur une petite île près de Bamako (les détails exacts de l'hôtel restent à confirmer).
Jour 5 : Exposition culturelle et départ
Lors de votre dernier jour de voyage, visitez un centre de marionnettes intéressant à Bamako. Expérimentez une représentation de danse de marionnettes traditionnelle, offrant une expérience culturelle unique.
Après avoir dit au revoir aux danseurs de marionnettes, préparez-vous pour le voyage de retour à l'aéroport international de Senou.
